Another thing that I learned is about PBL. Problem Based Learning for me will gradually make the learners become independent. The learners decide what is important and useful for them and do it for class activities to meet the learning objectives. I found Susan Gaers' examples very inspiring and motivating. I am happy that actually I have implemented some PBL approaches in my teaching.
Webquest is a very good example of project based learning. I have created my own webquest in www.zunal.com. I plan to use this tool to solve a problem that I currently deal in my class. I believe webquest can be very useful to support students and to prevent plagiarism problem. It is an inquiry based activities using technology that may stimulate and motivate the students to read more and write better.
Dear Herman,
ReplyDeleteI am very happy to write to you.Your blog is great, I liked it very much.I agree with you that rubrics are really great & helpful. However,in my country project based learning is the star. The problem of plagiarism is a worldwide problem, but I think encouraging students & boosting their self-confidence would help a lot.
Best regards,
Yours,
Joseph.
Hi Joseph. Thank you very much for your compliment. You made a very good point by saying that "encouraging students & boosting their self-confidence" can help preventing plagiarism. I hope we can share our experience more.

Dear Herman,
ReplyDeleteI am glad your blog post is vivid it clearly depicts what you have done in this week.I too agree that rubrcsstar help us to create rubrics easily, definitely we will continue to use this tool for our class room. You said project based tasks make the students independent but some students may fail to complete the task what alternative do we suggest for them??
Regards,
Vinay
Dear Vinay
DeleteThank you very much for your kind comment. I am trying to use the rubistar for my classes and promote it to my fellow teachers. About the failure of some students in the project based, I can just say that sometimes the process is much more important than the result. Don't you think so my friend?
cheers,
Herman
